Bonds HR-less in opener

Barry Bonds went 1-for-4 in the Giants' opening-day loss to the Padres. He doubled in the 2nd and scored. He caught a couple of flies in LF and scooped up a syringe a fan tossed on the field. "I just put it off the field so no one would get hurt," Bonds said. "I didn't want anyone to step on it."

Bond is 6 HRs shy of tying Babe Ruth's 714 total.
