Bonghitters dice The Onion

High Times' softball stoners, the Bonghitters, came from behind twice yesterday to defeat The Onion, 8-6, in Central Park. The Onion opened the scoring with 3 runs in the first, but the Bonghitters stormed back in the 3rd to take a 4-3 lead (thanks to LCF Dave Halberstadt's base-clearing triple). The Onion retook the lead, 5-4, on a HR and a sac fly in the 4th. By the bottom of the 5th, it was time for the infamous "rally joint" - the Bonghitters' run-producing elixir. With the bases loaded once again, 3B Abian Sacks poked a single, and by the time, The Onion returned the ball to the infield all three runners had crossed the plate. SS Darren Pelled drove Sacks home with a single to up the score to 8-5. The Onion rallied for a run in the 7th, but came up on the short end again. They've yet to beat the Bonghittters in 6 tries. However, this Onion squad was far improved from last season's team, which lost 16-1 to the Bonghitters.
