Bonghitters streak to 3-0

High Times' Bonghitters won their game in a row yesterday, defeating The New Yorker, 12-4, in Central Park. It was the stoners' 8th straight win over the literary luminaries.

Overcast and cool weather required long sleeves and double sweats. The New Yorker debuted new "Carolina" blue jerseys with personal numbers on the backs. The Bonghitters' grey and green shirts are all simply marked "420."

Playing on The New Yorker's field in the North Meadow, the Bonghitters opened the scoring with a run in the top of the 1st inning. The New Yorker matched that run, but couldn't withstand the Bonghitters' 5-run blitz in the 3rd, highlighted by Jason Mills' 3-run HR and Darren Pelled's 2-run double, all off The New Yorker's coach Matt Dellinger. Bonghitters' pitcher Rick Reta went the distance, scattering 12 hits.

Post-game festivities took place at the Tap N Keg on Broadway. A good, high time was had by all.

Next game: 5/25 vs. Vanity Fair's Veefers, home game, Great Lawn, 7 pm start.
